Abundance or scarcity as a mindset

Mindset affects how one chooses to see the world. His/her reactions to what happens - both big events and everyday ones - determines whether a person sees a constant lack of resources or opportunities in negative situations.

Scarcity as a mindset

People who see resources as scarce believe that if one has them, the other does not, so they work to attract as much as possible to themselves. For entrepreneurs, an important element of preparing for a new business is awareness of necessary resources, which need to be put in at the beginning, and whether they are available or have yet to be provided.

The way it is used the language, can tell if a person has a resource-scarce mindset. For example, if the verb 'takes' is used for time, not 'invests', and they talk about 'status' instead of 'contribution'.

Abundance as a mindset

In contrast, people with an abundance mindset look for creative ways to turn things around negative into positive. They see countless opportunities for impact and how through collaboration and teamwork high results can be achieved without large investments.

Transformation from scarcity to abundance

Attitude change can happen when one focuses on what is available. Instead of thinking about what you don't have, it's good to think about what opportunity is on the horizon. An example of this is a career change. If one thinks that there is not enough transferable skills to change the industry in which he works, or despair that there are few positions and yet a lot of competition, this is scarce thinking. If, however, it uses the career break to think about what he really wants to do next in his life, this is a great opportunity.

It also leads to a change in the way a person looks at things change of approach and looking for a solution in which both parties win, or at least do not leave the negotiations in a worse situation than they were before, gives more opportunities for positive developments.

Expressing gratitude underbelieves well-being. This small gesture with a big meaning makes those around you feel good, but also reminds one that what is taken for granted should not be underestimated.
