The Chairman of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria Kiril Domuschiev and the Rector of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" Prof. Krasimir Petkov signed a Cooperation Agreement between KRIB and NSA.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors of KRIB, I want to welcome this agreement, which will give a start to our cooperation," Kiril Domuschiev said at the beginning of the meeting. "KRIB develops partnerships with a number of universities from all over the country, because we believe that the connection between science and business is very important for our economy. We actively support Bulgarian sports. We were the only employer's organization that came out with a position at the request of the various sports federations, members of KRIB, led by the Bulgarian Football Union, in connection with the amendments to the Law on Gambling, which harm Bulgarian sport and its financing", said the chairman of KRIB. "I personally sympathize with the mission of the National Sports Academy and believe that business, sports and science can and should go hand in hand. You train not only students with high sportsmanship, but also prepare specialized personnel that the labor market needs and that are important for the health of our employees and for the development of the economy. So our cooperation can be in many areas and I am sure that it will give good results both for business and for sports and science", emphasized Kiril Domuschiev.
For his part, the Rector of the National Sports Academy, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, emphasized the importance of the partnership with the largest employer and business organization in Bulgaria. "We are also honored and privileged to sign this cooperation agreement. The National Sports Academy is the forerunner of the first and only Higher School of Physical Education, established in 1942 by decree of Tsar Boris III. The cadres created by the NSA become successful people, which is the most important thing for us," said Prof. Petkov. "What we do as a university, creating the scientific sports potential of Bulgaria, is measured by the excellent achievements of our athletes and this is the expression of our work. We develop 69 types of sports, train teaching personnel, as well as personnel related to public health and tourism. We are convinced that our partnership will be very useful for both parties," emphasized the rector of the National Academy of Sciences.
The partnership agreement was signed at the headquarters of KRIB in the presence of the assistant rector of the NSA Prof. Nikolay Izov, the deputy rector of the NSA Assoc. Hristo Andonov, the deputy chairman of the KRIB Prof. Nikolay Valkanov, the executive director of the KRIB Evgeni Ivanov and members of the Management Board of the organization.
"I had the opportunity to be at the Sports Academy these days and I was extremely impressed by what I saw," said Prof. Nikolay Valkanov. "Parks, Olympic center, auditoriums and halls - everything lights up. You can see that all this has been done for years, with love, and the most important thing is that these are wonderful conditions for the training of young people".
"I respect what KRIB is doing, and I want to thank you for the trust you place in NSA," said Prof. Nikolay Izov. "I believe that this agreement is important for the Sports Academy, as well as for the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria."
The agreement provides for a number of joint activities and initiatives related to the provision of internship programs by KRIB member companies for the students of the NSA, as well as opportunities for career development.
