The Ministry of Transport and Communications has published for public discussion changes to Ordinance H-32 on periodic inspections to check the technical condition of road vehicles. The Ordinance is published on the page of MTS and in the Public Consultation Portal of the Council of Ministers - https://strategy.bg/ for a period of 30 days.
By order of the Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Gvozdeikov, a working group was formed to revise the texts of Ordinance H-32. The experts' conclusion is that malfunctions related to exhaust gas emissions do not directly affect road safety. Until now, these malfunctions were classified as "dangerous" and vehicles were stopped from moving.
With the current changes in Ordinance H-32, it is envisaged that malfunctions regarding emissions in the exhaust gases from motor vehicles will be classified as "significant". In this case, vehicle owners are given a period of time to remove them, after which they undergo a technical inspection again. Another change in the Ordinance provides that the period for removal from 14 days will become 30 days.
"The better we maintain the car, the fewer problems we will have at the technical inspection," commented the Acting Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Gvozdeikov.
